Once you arrive at El Prat, you can choose different ways to get to the city. It’s important to know in what airport terminal you are landing, so the public transport will be different.
If you choose TRAIN: The train has a frequency of 30 minutes from the airport to the city center. And the travel time is about 25 minutes. Then you will have to get out of the train at the stations: Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gràcia or Clot, from there you can take the underground to get to a singular or specific place.
If you choose AEROBUS: there’s an express service that takes you from the airport to the center of Barcelona. This service has a frequency between 5 and 10 minutes. You can take this bus from Terminal 1 and 2. You should get out of the bus in Plaça Espanya, Plaça Universitat or Plaça Catalunya if you want to go to the main center.
If you choose bus TMB (Number 46): this is the normal bus service, and it’s working between 04:50 am until 23:50pm and as well from both airport terminals. The difference with AEROBUS is that has more stops and the travel is longer but also cheaper.
If you choose Metro L9: from February 2016 there is a metro connecting the Airport with Zona Universitaria where you can change to the line L3 which will bring you to the city center. Between the airport (Terminal 1) and Zona Universitaria it will take 32 minutes by metro.
Beside these options, outside the airport you can also find taxis or cars for rent. If you need an easy transfer from the airport to your accommodation you can ask us and we will arrange this for you.
