We need the sun and if you are like me, like a good Spanish that if I don’t see the sun for more than 3 days I go into a depression, you will understand why we need the sun and why I want to share with you this post.
Those of you who already live in the Netherlands, I am sure you will have noticed that our Dutch friends run outside when is a bit of sun shine. Parks, forests, fields, canals and terraces, all the outdoor options are good when the sun rises.
Today in this post we want to share with you the best terraces in Amsterdam to enjoy a nice sunny day with a drink in Amsterdam. Hopefully this summer we will have a lot of sun!
Squares as Leidseplein , Rembrandtplein and Spui are good choices.
Less touristic and next to the canal options are Café Van Zuylen ‘s, De Jaren and Zouthaven .
Nieuwmarkt is a square full of terraces and the Vondelpark is also a very good choice for a sunny terrace bars as ‘ tBlauwe Theehuis .
Noordermarkt in the Jordaan is one of my favorite places to have a drink. You can find places like Café Thijssen, Noordwest or Winkel .

Marie Heinekenplein is a square full of cafes with terraces .
Also you can visit Gerard Douplein . In this location you can have a drink at the Sarphaat with a nice view to Sarphatipark , at Café Binnen Buiten and Café Ruis .
More to the south you can find Gent at the back of the Vondelpark.
Next to the river Amstel you can find bars with terrace as Hesp or Ysbreeker .
If you go to Oost you cannot miss the Brouwerij’t IJ .
A good option is the Westergasfabriek where a lot of events take place and you can drink a cold beer for example in the Pacific Parc, in the WestergasTerras or in Toko MC .
In the corner of Marnixtraat you can find Brandstof.
You can arrive there with the free ferry to Amsterdam Noord and enjoy the fantastic views from the River IJ .
There are many places to enjoy the sun such as the EYE Filmmuseum , IJ – Kantine , Noorderlicht and Pllek .
At the stop Buiksloterweg you can find the De Pont and Tolhuistuin.
