Hello World Barcelona – Discovering Barcelona
After more than 2 years supporting Spanish people living and travelling in The Netherlands…We are ready add new services in Hello World Holanda and start with one of the projects in which we have dedicated time and effort! We present Hello World Barcelona for those Dutch people who want to enjoy living or travelling in our wonderful city, Barcelona!
We like to help people to live unique experiences in other countries, and after what we lived, we want to go one step further by helping Dutch people that want to visit, live, work or spend some time in one of the most touristic cities in Spain: Barcelona.
Like more than one song says: How beautiful is Barcelona! A city with culture, joy, people in the streets and perfect to learn, relax and discover. In this post we will introduce you a little about Catalan culture, but do not worry, this is just the beginning!
We think that knowing about the history of the places that you go is important, Barcelona has many influences from different cultures and every corner is full of new remnants. If you like this, we recommend you visit the Museu d’Historia de Barcelona, which preserves historic heritage of the city such as the Pillars of Adriano, shelters built during the Spanish Civil War or one of the historic cemeteries due to siege Barcelona between the years 1713-1714, the Fossar de les Moreres. Barcelona is full of historical monuments like La Sagrada Familia, the Güell Park, the Arc de Triomphe, the Hospital de Sant Pau and more.
But if you prefer to rest before the story, you can’t forget that there are many places and corners of Barcelona where you can relax or have a drink to refresh. In summer the streets are flooded with life and activity, and bars open their terraces for everyone to enjoy the famous pintxos, tapas and if you risk more, visit a historic wine cellar and drink homemade vermouth. And of course, do not forget to go to beaches like Barceloneta beach where sometimes even in the cooler seasons, the sun shines in all its glory!
If you like walking, Barcelona is a good place to do it. Walking is a good way to discover the city and at the same time learn much of their culture. Walk down La Rambla of Barcelona, the Ciutadella Park and the streets that Picasso loved in his youth.
But if you’re more adventurous, in every city there’s a tourist spot. We refer to the mountain of Montjuic where you can see the Palau Sant Jordi, the Olympic Stadium and the Botanical Jardi.
This and much more is what awaits you in Barcelona, and in the next blogs we will be happy to tell you more secrets about this active and historic city. Do not miss it!
As we say in Barcelona: Fins aviat!
